Annual Report 2007

GREEN AID
Registered Charity Number: 1102151

Report of the Trustees for the year 2007

This report on the activities of Green Aid is for the fourth year from the inception of the Charity, 1 September 2006 to 31 August 2007.

This year the charity was able to distribute all of the funds received during the year. It also utilised a small proportion of the Reserves built up in the previous two years. The Trustees believe there should still be sufficient reserve to enable the Charity to fulfil its objectives in the coming years.

The principle fund raising activity is through the activities of our Chairman, Colin Green.

Green Aid is grateful for the substantial contributions received from:

  • Radware Ltd
  • Lomos Ltd
  • Olistra Ltd
  • The Moss & Joy Spiro Charitable Trust
  • Hazel and Colin Green

And we are grateful to them for their support.

The corporate donations came from companies in Israel and it is the charities policy that funds donated by Israel companies are used to support charitable causes in Israel. During the year we have focused mainly on educational and medical causes and made significant donations the following charitable institutions:

  • United Jewish Israel Appeal
  • Jewish National Fund
  • The Shalom Foundation
  • Friends of the Federation of Zionist Youth
  • The forgotten People’s Fund of Israel
  • Magen David Adom

We have also supported among other charitable causes:

  • One Family
  • Hazon Yeshaya
  • Shaare Zedek Hospital
  • The Laniado Hosptital
  • The friends of Young Israel of North Netanya
  • ABESU
  • Kingston and District Synagogue
  • Nightingale House

We have also made a large number of smaller donations to a wide range of charities, particularly supporting causes in Israel whose work is in fields relevant to our Objects.

Green Aid also administered the Antithesis Charitable Trust. This fund distributed CDs recorded specially for it by the artiste “Antithesis” with all the net sale proceeds being
devoted to the objects of the Charity. To date, from the proceeds two donations each of £1000 each have been made to the United Jewish Israel Appeal and the International
Coalition for Missing Israeli Soldiers.

We would also like to acknowledge with thanks the help and support from Philip Weinberg of Marks Bloom of Kingston Upon Thames
